Scope
The Financial Services Group is seeking to support its quickly growing Residential Mortgage & Related Services practice with an experienced Investment Banking Associate or Vice President.
Houlihan Lokey’s Residential Mortgage & Related Services practice, within its Financial Services Group offers M&A, capital raising, valuation, and corporate restructurings advice to public and private companies.
The team of bankers represent the sector’s preeminent advisory practice with extensive experience structuring a variety of strategic M&A transactions for private and public residential mortgage originators, servicers, REITs and related services companies. Over the past five years, the team has completed nearly 2.5x the number of U.S. mortgage transactions as its next closest competitor.
Responsibilities
Experienced Associates or Vice Presidents in the Financial Services Group support new business development and investment banking engagements, manage the execution of M&A transactions, and assist with private capital markets and restructuring transactions. They also develop expertise and build relationships with clients.
Key contributions and expectations for these roles include:
- Focusing mainly on the residential mortgage and related services industry; Leading a team of analysts and associates on various residential mortgage and related services projects, including market and company financial analyses;
- Directly managing sellside and buyside (less often) M&A engagements, including the preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches, and other presentations;
- Building relationships and maintaining direct contact with clients, prospective clients, and professional advisors;
- Presenting pitches, analyses, and presentations to clients such as founders, executives, and boards of directors;
- Overseeing the maintenance of marketing materials and trading and transaction comparables files;
- Helping lead intern and lateral analyst, and associate recruiting;
- Mentoring and training interns, analysts and associates; and Learning and developing directly under a team of experienced, seasoned investment banking leaders within the Residential Mortgage & Related Services team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is an experienced investment banking Associate or Vice President with direct professional experience covering residential mortgage and related services companies at a globally recognized investment bank, or boutique investment bank focused on financial services companies. Candidates must have relevant M&A transaction experience and a solid understanding of companies in the residential mortgage and related services sectors, as well as how these companies operate, are valued, trade, and how transactions are typically structured.

Compensation And Benefits
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$225,000.00-$250,000.00
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
